Auto car A/C air conditioning tools and equipment

Just had my new A/C tool and equipment arrive, lots of good stuff some i will need to learn more about but all excellent. 

I bought this kit from Zedperformance

Very good quality kit and it includes everything i should need to start off my A/C topping up business and hopefully to eventually move into servicing and repairs of auto A/C systems too.

I looked at a lot of equipment before buying this kits they have everything you need and more and you cannot get gauges like these anywhere else at least i could not find anything even close.

The seller sells other kits too with some with even more useful kit like A/C system flushing kits and even refrigerant measuring scales for precise refilling.

The gauges are very good quality who ever made them new exactly what was needed , and tick all the boxes that i was looking for which were needed to do all automotive refrigerants R22 to R437a which is the older gas used and was replaced around mid 90s to R134a which is the gas used in main bulk of cars today, in 2017 gas was updated to R234yf. So basically the gauges cover all cars. Also good clear gauges a sight glass for viewing refrigerant when topping up, good length of hoses which give extra portability and it helps when refilling as it helps prevent overloading compressor with liquid refrigerant. You will still need to be careful though as overloading the compressor can damage it so be-careful if you refill with compressor off turn compressor over a few time to prevent lock up or only put in a little bit of refrigerant at a time. the kit also comes with all the necessary adapters to cover you for all the gases which saves you a nightmare finding the correct ones to fit your equipment. The kit also comes with all the adapters to refill using small cans and larger bottles of gases. 

Obviously the gauges manifold are also made of metal so durable and have a hook to hook to the bonnet clip whilst in use and it includes connectors on the side of the manifold to store the hoses when not in use to protect against damage and to not allow dust into the hoses. 

The kit also includes a Schrader valve core removal tools which will come in handy as these need to be changed regularly.

Next in this kit if the Aluminium oil / dye injector this is a very useful tool for both adding oil into the system if needed and in the event a leak is suspected you can add some UV dye and use a UV torch to search form the leak or faulty component.

its solid built and should last a long time and even comes with a spare o-ring seal as well, not used one of these in the past but look simple to use. Basically you need to turn body to the scales on the side for example to the 2 fluid oz mark the remove the end cap with the blue hose fitted fill the main body with with oil then refit the end ca/hose ensuring good seal and then turn the main body to purge any air from the tool then attach the correct adapter for the system your using probably r134a and connect to the low side of the system and inject oil buy turning the main body of the tool.

The next excellent tool in this kit is the sight gauge for inspection of the systems refrigerant and oil you need to vacuum the tool before connecting to the system you can them connect across the system draw of some of the system fluid an hold it in the sight glass for inspection you can them analyse the results if you see bits in the fluid its likely you can internal damage if its could and discoloured you may have moisture or other contamination ill do a post and video of this later so keep watching this blog.

These Schrader valve core removal replacement tools are excellent they allow you to replace a faulty Schrader valve without have to 

evacuate and refill the system along with all the associate headaches and costs, these could save you a lot of time and money.

Last but no least the Vacuum pump, use this to draw an empty A/C system into a Vacuum for the purpose removing moisture and from the system and also check for leaks, you need to hold the vacuum for a while up to 30 mins with pump running and another 30 mins with pump off to ensure a good vacuum is created and to allow enough time for the moisture to boil off.

The pump included in this good is of good quality and is built to last it has fan for keeping motor cool under operation it has on/off switch and it also have a vacuum gauge and solenoid valve added to it this ensures a good seal when the pump is turn off to hold a vacuum and to be able to measure the vacuum created at the pump itself. There is a bottle of oil included oil is very important on a vacuum pump it lubricates, cools and helps seal the internal vanes inside the pump so ensure you use good quality oils an maintain the correct levels. This pump is virtually silent too which is a big bonus.

The gauge on the vacuum pump on this unit is in mbar and very sensitive to pressure changes making it much more visible to see even minor leaks.

Another excellent addition to this kit are these oil testers id recommend doing this test on every car to ensure the oil is present and not contaminated, you do not want to over or underfill the A/C system with oil as both are bad and so is contaminated oil so check regularly.
